Gentlepeople:
The New York Times editorial ”The Myth of Deterrence” [Friday 27 April] says “only one in six of the people sentenced to death in the last 35 years have been executed.” Why do you not specifically state that not a single one of the other five has not subsequently committed murder? Certainly not a single one of of the one in six who have been executed has repeated their capital offense.
