The UK Financial Times' Monday 12 March article “GE rejects Republicans’ climate change doubts” quotes the United States conglomerate General Electric saying it had "long seen climate change as a valid concern after an internal evaluation of the scientific case in 2005.”
The climate change scientific case is based on mathematical models: “The climate has changed such-and-such for so long – if it continues like that for so long it will cause all sorts of problems.”
What is never admitted is the pathetically small set of past performance data it has to work with. This can be demonstrated with another mathematical model: projecting the planet's 4.5 billion year age on to the lifetime of an 80-year-old human being. Such a model shows one year of earth time being equivalent to 0.562 seconds of an 80-year human life span.
This means humans first appeared in our model earth 39 days ago. They had no idea of measuring temperature before Galileo's 1593 thermometer invention, 4 minutes ago to our senior citizen; discovery of carbon dioxide in 1630? 3 minutes 30 seconds ago.
If an MD takes an 80 year-old patient's blood pressure and gets 120 over 80, does it again 5 minutes later and gets 124 over 78, would he call 911 for an ambulance?

For about a year I had small offices in Clayton MO, in the Country Club Plaza in KC. I rode a ten-speed bike around Lake Michigan (The bottom half in one week in June 1978, another week for the top half in 1980, used the Badger both times.
Don't get to travel much anymore, but still try to rent a car and go around the Lake in March every year. Sure, there's still snow, and it's not warm, OTOH there are no bugs and no toursts. Greatest little tavern in the world is Sherry's Port Bar in Garden UP MI
