The Wall Street Journal's Kim Strassel on Friday 9 March refers to Mitt Romney as "an American success story." If instead of being the son of an auto industry big shot and three-times elected state governor, his father had been a 27-year professional army officer he would not only never have been a success story, American or otherwise, but no one would have ever heard of him.
